Cost Accountant

About the Role

An exciting position exists as a Cost Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Director, and working closely
with the operational teams, the selected individual will provide crucial support to the team across areas
but not limited to product costing, manufacturing, distribution, inventory, and expense management.
The role will analyze, and project financial performance of the manufacturing operations of the
Company.

Salary range: $85,000-$100,000 per year pending DOE

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of plant and co-packed product costing system within SAP
  • Provide insight and analysis of cost variances and drivers
  • Review and maintain bill of materials
  • Daily review and control of clerical entries related to production and inventory transactions
  • Prepare and analyze monthly cost variance reports, including collaborating with plant management to ensure accurate understanding of actual costs
  • Help maintain and monitor plant and operational KPIs
  • Provide financial support for plant and distribution center
  • Recommend changes to reduce costs
  • Submit Milk Market Administrator reports
  • Support month, quarter, and year-end close activities
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Perform ad hoc requests/analyses that arise based on business needs at the time. 

What You Bring To The Team

  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing financial results.
  • Advanced-level MS Excel is a must. 
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a large organization
  • Performance-driven with a desire to take on increasing levels of responsibility and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven success at fostering teamwork and team development

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 + years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment  
  • Experience with SAP S4/HANA preferred
  • Experience in the Food and Beverage industry preferred
