Financial Analyst

About the role:

An exciting and challenging position exists as a Financial Analyst. Reporting to the Finance Director & Controller, the selected individual will provide critical support in the creation and analysis of corporate reporting. This individual will be responsible for both developing new reporting and analyzing existing reports. 

As a key member within the finance team, this role is focused on translating many sources of operational, financial, and other data into reporting and analysis useful for making management decisions. 

This role will be expected to obtain and maintain a high-level understanding of the business from both a financial and “real world” perspective and use that understanding to provide insights to the management team.

Salary range: $69,400-$81,600 per year pending DOE

Responsibilities

  • Prepare/update and analyze regular scheduled reporting. This occurs in weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual intervals.
  • Become a subject matter expert on the makeup and presentation of the financial statements.
  • Support the monthly close process.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting package, including KPIs, variance analyses, and others.  Provide insights into the causes and implications of the results.
  • Analyzing current and past trends in areas such as product sales, margins, etc.
  • Support the new product development process from a financial/profitability perspective.
  • Work closely with IT Team to develop/refine reporting within the business intelligence (BI) tool.
  • Proactively identify and communicate potential efficiencies or process improvements.
  • Effectively discuss complex financial concepts with those inside and outside the finance organization.
  • Perform ad hoc requests/analyses that arise based on business needs at the time.

What you bring to the team

  • Excellent understanding of GAAP financial statements and how they interact with each other.
  • 3-5 years of FP&A, public accounting, or equivalent experience. Consumer Packaged Goods exposure is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing financial results.
  • Advanced-level MS Excel is a must.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint. INFOR M3 experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a large organization.
  • Performance-driven with a desire to take on increasing levels of responsibility and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven success at fostering teamwork and team development.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or a related field.
