IT Business Intelligence Analyst

Full Time

About the Role

The IT Business Intelligence Analyst will focus on the development and support of enterprise-wide reporting and dashboards using data collected from multiple data sources and housed in a Microsoft SQL Server database.  This role requires the individual to be able to exhibit analysis and discovery of internal and external data sources critical to business decision makers, and the import, incorporation and modeling of the information to deliver key performance indicators for data driven business decisions.  This position reports to the Director of Information Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product stakeholders on creation and delivery of on-demand and interactive BI/visualization solutions
  • Identifying and developing data analysis to uncover areas of business opportunity
  • Design data warehouse flows and schemas based off analysis, including staging, fact, dimensions, cubes, and reporting models
  • Design, implement and maintain ETL processes from multiple data sources
  • Monitor the DWH and BI systems performance and integrity provide corrective and preventative maintenance as required.
  • Create user and training documentation
  • Create reports and dashboards using Qlik and nPrint or other business tools
  • Be able to quickly shape data into reporting and analytics solutions
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results
  • Solves user inquiries that arise during day-to-day operation
  • Become a subject matter expert with chosen business intelligence tools and development standards and best practices related to reports and all related objects.
  • Work with users and team members at all levels for performance improvement and suggestions
  • Write supporting documentation including technical specifications, test scripts , test results, change control, implementation checklists, production support instructions, data models and data flow diagrams.
  • Participation in after-hours system related functions such as production support, conversions, upgrades, and implementations
  • Analyze current ETL process, define and design new systems
  • Data warehouse development and work with , SSIS, and SSRS
  • Assist with additional I.T. related tasks as needed.
  • Daily Support and administration tasks.

What You Bring to the Team

  • 5+ years’ experience with the Microsoft BI Stack (T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) to deliver advanced BI and Data solutions
  • 5 + years MS-SQL/T SQL writing stored procedures and database schema design
  • Data warehouse concepts and design patterns including star schema and snowflake database design, ETL processing
  • Understand Data Warehousing principles and methodologies
  • Experience with Infor M3 ERP desired but not required
  • 5 + years of experience with 1 or more Business Intelligence tools
  • Experience with developing BI solutions supporting the all areas of the company using Qlik
  • Enterprise report building and delivery
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical terms. Also the ability to articulate technical concepts in non-technical terms for business stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills as it pertains to job responsibilities
  • Excellent detail with strong critical-thinking, independent research, and problem solving skills

Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent experience
