Merchandiser (OC/SD)

Full Time

About the Role

Clover Sonoma is looking for full time Merchandisers for several Southern California territories (Los Angeles, Valley, Orange County & San Diego). You will be responsible for making sure stores have ample Clover products on shelf within Grocery, Mass & Hispanic customers. This includes stocking coolers, rotating product, setting up displays, and moving products from storage to the cooler and display cases.  You will build strong relationships with the dairy teams and store management at the various store locations.

This position is labor intensive, requiring lifting, loading, pushing and pulling cases weighing from 40-50 pounds per case repeatedly over 8-hour daily work period, as well as bending, reaching and squatting while merchandising and moving products.

Salary Range: $52,000 – 58,000 annually DOE

A Day in the Life

  • You will have approximately 100 stores that you will visit in your Southern California territory
  • Plan your week and daily routes based on store availability and Clover priorities
  • Drive from store to store in Southern California so you will need a very dependable vehicle
  • Mange your time to include administrative functions; populating templates, utilizing customer systems and store reporting
  • Communicate daily with stores, wholesalers and Clover with email, Chat, Google web based products  
  • You will carry a Clover backpack that includes materials needed to perform role; Company smart tablet or smart phone along with stocking your car with POS, SWAG, coupons and tools necessary to work in store. 

Role Requirements

  • Plan your work and work your plan by store by day
  • Merchandise store shelving, coolers and displays with products in assigned accounts
  • Build customer relationships at the store level
  • Rotate products in the backroom and on the shelf 
  • Manage inventory between backroom coolers and coolers on the floor
  • Utilize either iPad / Smart phone to track progress in store and access account portals and Clover and Account systems
  • Conduct pricing reports and deliver information back to the team
  • Conduct weekly recaps of territory including success stories and any store issues
  • Utilize ordering system to understand and analyze store movement to place correct order quantities in store
  • Process credit request for unsaleable product in store and notify driver to pick up old product from store
  • Transport products to and from backroom to shelf location. Use equipment to transport products (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.)
  • Display promotional material such as signs and banners in accounts
  • Comply with store and Clover operating procedures 
  • Provide excellent customer service (e.g., communication, rapport building, attentiveness to customer needs, etc.)
  • Document store information on store call sheet

What You Bring to the Team

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree a plus
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision (self-managed role)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
  • Customer service experience (handling customer complaints, responding to customer requests, or meeting customer needs) strongly preferred
  • Prior experience working for a retail business or grocery store preferred
  • Merchandising or backroom/stock experience preferred
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Must have car or personal transportation to access multi-store locations within assigned area
  • Must possess valid CA driver’s license and proof of insurance; driving record must meet insurability requirement
  • Work involves heavy lifting, loading, pushing and pulling cases weighing 40-50 pounds per case repeatedly over a 8 hour work period.
  • Bending, reaching, kneeling and squatting while merchandising and moving products
  • Occasional Weekends may be required
