Located in the Santa Rosa plains, Beretta Family Dairy emphasizes the importance of a family operation with four generations involved in every aspect of the day to day. When not working on the dairy, Doug and his daughter, Jennifer, give much of their time to the agricultural community by serving on various committees and boards.

Sustainable Water Solutions

The Beretta Family Dairy has found innovative ways to reuse water on their farm, ensuring the best possible care for their environment and animals. By using reclaimed wastewater to irrigate their pastures, they are able to grow high-quality feed for their cows while conserving groundwater.

Sustainable Bedding Solutions

Beretta Family Dairy received funding from the California Department of Food and Agriculture for an Alternative Manure Management Program to help reduce on-farm greenhouse gas emissions. With this grant, they installed automatic manure scrapers and a mechanical separator that isolates manure solids from the liquid. The solids are turned into compost and utilized as soft bedding in the cow stalls. The liquid is used to irrigate their pastures.
