Cultivating Change: How Clover Sonoma and Zero Foodprint are Rooted in Regeneration

That is why we are proud to partner with Zero Foodprint, a nonprofit mobilizing the food industry around bold agricultural climate solutions.
Zero Foodprint is fundamentally changing how we approach the food system. By crowd-funding contributions from food businesses and consumers, they channel vital funding directly to farmers and ranchers. This innovative model bridges the gap between everyday food production and impactful environmental action, turning your daily dairy choices into a powerful driver for soil restoration and climate resilience.
Driving the Future of Regenerative Agriculture
As leaders in sustainable dairy, we know that true sustainability requires looking far beyond our own pastures to elevate the entire field of regenerative agriculture. Zero Foodprint’s impact extends beyond the dairy industry, providing critical grants to produce farmers, ranchers, vineyards, and more. Transitioning to regenerative practices involves time, intense effort, and financial investments for farmers. By partnering with organizations like Zero Foodprint, we are actively catalyzing this transition for family farms and scaling climate-positive practices across the agricultural landscape. Since 2021, through our Clover Cares program, we have contributed $65,000 to help fund these essential grants.
Education and On-the-Ground Action
To truly transform the food system, we must promote transparency and education about what regenerative agriculture looks like in practice. Zero Foodprint grants help fund key projects on our partner farms, such as prescribed and rotational grazing, range planting, compost application, and forage and biomass planting. These practices deliver lasting, measurable impacts, with benefits ranging from annual management improvements to permanent structural changes that enrich the land for future years.
Empowering Our Family Farm Partners
We are immensely proud to see our family farm partners rewarded for their contribution to this initiative, standing alongside a growing movement of small-scale regenerative farmers tackling the climate crisis head-on. In 2025, several of our producers, including Beretta Family Dairy, Deniz Dairy, Perucchi Dairy, and Spaletta Ranch, were awarded Zero Foodprint Restore Grants to put these crucial practices into action.
The collective impact of this work sets a high standard for what sustainable dairy can achieve. To date, Clover Sonoma producers have received 6 grants, resulting in 3,091 acres of land restored and 7,495 metric tons of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e) sequestered from the atmosphere.
