We are all in need of relaxation and ways to de-stress these days. It feels like we’re taking punches left and right, but all we want to do is hideaway from the realities outside. You can. Find unique ways to de-stress and bring yourself down to earth. Literally, use what earth has given us and surround yourself in all things natural to ground yourself. One of those natural sources of goodness is milk. Milk is a superfood in more ways than one, so take a milk bath moment for yourself. Did you know, milk can…

  • soothe and hydrate skin;
  • reduce fine lines and wrinkles;
  • exfoliate skin;
  • improve skin firmness;
  • reduce dry spots and flare-ups;
  • ease sunburn;
  • improve inflammatory skin conditions;
  • and ease tension

The fat and protein in milk provide immediate benefit in your bathwater. The lactic acid in milk helps clean and soften the skin by removing dead skin cells and encouraging cell renewal. The milk hydrates the skin, preventing dryness, and may reduce some of the darkening that naturally occurs as your skin ages.

So why not draw yourself a milk bath inspired by nature and things that can be found in your backyard? You can also add in essential oils, bath salts, honey, or baking soda for additional benefits. Take your kids (or your dog) on a scavenger hunt to find these fun items. Fill your bathtub with warm water and add in milk and optional ingredients. Taking a milk bath once a week can leave your skin feeling soft, supple, and youthful. To draw a diva-worthy bath that will refresh your skin and your outlook, here is our recipe:

  • 1-2 cups of Clover Sonoma Whole Milk
  • Fragrant flowers found in your yard – lavender, rose petals, rosemary, herbs
  • Fruit: Sliced lemons, oranges, limes, strawberries, blackberries or whatever is in season
  • Essential oils (as needed) like lavender, eucalyptus, chamomile, peppermint
  • ¼ cup honey (Manuka honey if you have it)

It’s that simple. You don’t need soap, just let it all soak in. Now, slip into your diva-worthy bath or draw one for your kids and enjoy the zen moment.
