Clover Cream Rises to the Top in Local Chowder Competition

Attention chowder lovers! This Saturday marks the 13th annual Chowder Day festivities in Bodega Bay, California. For the price of a $10 ticket, chowder enthusiasts can participate in a progressive tasting event and culinary tour featuring several popular restaurants and seafood shacks in this quaint seaside town. Tickets go on sale at 10:30am on the day of the event (follow the signs to the drive-thru ticket booth as you enter town), and max out at 1,000 sold, so be sure to go early to avoid missing out on the fun. For more event details, click here.

Chowder is the quintessential East Coast seafood stew, but our talented North Coast chefs have perfected their own take on this popular soup. Local field reporter Diane Peterson at The Press Democrat recently spoke to eight of these chefs to discover their best tips for making the consummate chowder.

Guess what? Clover butter & cream make the โ€œmust haveโ€ ingredient list in chowder recipes from native New Englander Jeff Reilly at Duck Club Restaurant at the Bodega Bay Lodge, and Samantha & Ryan Ramey from Estero Cafe in Valley Ford. Check out what they have to say about using Clover in their favorite versions of this classic comfort food, and get Jeffโ€™s recipe for Bodega Bay Fog Chowder.
