Human Resources Coordinator

About the Role

The Human Resources Coordinator handles and provides support for various HR employee programs and recruitment and assists in the bi-weekly payroll processing to ensure compliance of company policies, union, and local, state and federal employment laws.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Benefit administration, managing leaves of absences.
  • Act as consultant for employee benefit programs, recruitment and other HR related topics.
  • Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Keep employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with new hire and transfer onboarding process including post-offer tests and checks.
  • Maintain the employee handbook with updated resolutions and other pertinent information, as needed.
  • Assist in recruitment with managers to post openings and schedule interviews when needed.
  • Utilize the HRIS system for data entry and daily, weekly and monthly report generation.
  • Assist in the preparation of HR information for the Company monthly newsletter.
  • Work with uniform vendor for employee uniform program.
  • Responsible for the accurate input and maintenance of employee information in ADP.  Provide prompt resolution with employees regarding payroll issues.
  • Perform reconciliations for invoice payments.
  • Coordinate with A/P for remittances to third party administrators.
  • Assistant to the HR department.

What You Bring to the Team

  • HRIS experience – preferably ADP
  • LOA / Benefit administration expertise
  • Knowledge of local, federal and state employment, leave of absence and wage and hour laws
  • Recruitment experience with specific job roles and posting to various public sites
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of written communication and proofreading skills.
  • Flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet strict deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
  • Resolve problems in a timely manner and skillfully gather and analyze information.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, intermediate level Excel.
  • Travel within Petaluma to the plant or distribution warehouse as needed.

Education

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Human Resources.
  • PHR, SPHR or other creditable HR certificates is preferred.
