Sourcing Specialist

Full Time

About the Role 

Clover Sonoma is looking for a highly motivated Sourcing Specialist to join our team. You will assist Clover in creating strong relationships with new suppliers and maintaining strong relationships with our existing suppliers. Your responsibilities will include sourcing goods, materials, and services at competitive prices and advising management on which suppliers to contract with. You will maintain and update the supplier database and find alternative suppliers if existing ones are unable to meet their obligations. In addition, you will work with the relevant departments to ensure that costs remain within budget. You will have an opportunity to develop and implement innovative ideas to enhance sourcing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Source new suppliers and develop, build and maintain long-lasting relationships with our new and existing suppliers.
  • Implement inventory optimization strategies within the company.
  • Obtain quotes from multiple suppliers.
  • Source new ingredients and packaging.
  • Manage all details related to the product commercialization process for new and discontinuing products.
  • Monitor vendor scorecard compliance.
  • Work with Marketing on sustainable practices in accordance with B Corp requirements.
  • Maintain a current secondary source of suppliers in the event of supply shortages.
  • Manage negotiations with suppliers regarding price, quantity, and delivery schedules.
  • Work with Accounts Payable on accounting issues.
  • Attend co-packer plant tours as necessary.
  • Assess supplier quotes and compile a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns.
  • Suggest methods to decrease costs.
  • Generate quote comparisons and contribute to internal supplier selection.
  • Provide solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.
  • Work closely with Corporate QA to resolve any vendor quality issues.
  • Update forecasts and price changes in ERP systems.
  • Some travel may be required within Northern California

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, logistics, supply chain or related field 
  • Minimum of 2 years progressive sourcing experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience using ERP systems, SAP, M3 or similar.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of sourcing methodologies and processes.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with excellent follow-through
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
