Clover Sonoma Teams Up with the San Francisco 49ers Bringing Together Two Iconic, Beloved Bay Area Brands

With a history of being legendairy and a history of winning, both brands score high points within their respective communities and industries, offering fans unique opportunities to engage.

Petaluma, Calif. — September 16, 2020 — Clover Sonoma, a third-generation family-owned and operated dairy, is teaming up with the San Francisco 49ers to collaborate with another iconic, beloved Bay Area brand. As part of the partnership, Clover Sonoma will become the “Preferred Milk of the San Francisco 49ers”, which will include packaging, promotions, a holiday eggnog sweepstakes, advertising, and in-stadium and digital media.

“As a 49ers fan, I have always admired the organization’s focus on authenticity, philanthropy, diversity and community,” said Clover Sonoma Vice President of Sales & Marketing Kristel Corson. “Aligning with the 49ers allows us the opportunity to make a bigger impact in the Bay Area. And, we were excited to bring Sourdough Sam and Clo the Cow together for some laughable moments that will inevitably bring cheer to our dedicated fans.”

The partnership will include several assets on varied media platforms:

  • Some of the key campaign assets will include a Safeway Shopper program, where Clover Sonoma will be branding its holiday organic eggnog with the notable 49ers red and gold logo, including in-store marketing through the end of the year.
  • The 49ers Facebook channel will conduct a caption contest with Clover Sonoma where winners will get the chance to have their caption featured on a co-branded billboard in the Bay Area and two club seats to one 49ers game.
  • Clover Sonoma will be featured in ads on the 49ers Cal-Hi Sports Report, which is the largest high school sports TV show in California and is broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area, as well as on The 49ers Cal-Hi Sports Report YouTube channel featuring its Milk & Cookies with the Rookies event. Los 49ers is the 49ers Spanish Radio Channel where 49ers games are broadcast via web stream. Clover Sonoma will become the entitlement partner of the channel.

In a blooper-filled video, beloved mascots Sourdough Sam and Clo the Cow test their skills on the field. Watch Clo the Cow try out for the 49ers team and see if she makes the cut. Under quarantine, she’s been pasture-grazing to build strength and exercising her hoofs for this moment.
