Bivalve Dairy™

The  Bivalve Dairy™ is located along the Pacific Coast Highway One, overlooking Tomales Bay North of Pt. Reyes Station in Marin County, CA,  and gets its name from an old train station located on the ranch site in the early 1900s. John and Karen Taylor care for approximately 200 head of organic milk cows on this historic 750-acre ranch.

Karen is a Sixth generation dairywoman. Her father, William J. Bianchini, came from a dairy family in Two Rock, Sonoma County. Karen’s mother, Sharon, came from the Mendoza dairy family in West Marin County. Karen’s parents purchased the Bianchini Dairy in 1973. Her father passed away in 1984 and her mother managed the ranch until late 2005.

John and Karen officially took over in 2006 and established the Bivalve Dairy.   John and Karen both attended college at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA.  John, an engineer by trade, was also raised in agriculture.  John and Karen have three children. Camilla Kathleen, William Joseph (Billy Joe), and Eva Kathleen

The Taylor’s decision to produce high quality organic milk led them directly to Clover Stornetta Farms. Teaming up with a family-owned business with solid values and business integrity and a commitment to quality was important to John and Karen and Clover Stornetta Farms was the perfect match.

“We’re really pleased with the North Coast Excellence Certified program and appreciate the rewards it brings. It keeps our family dairy viable. ”
