Clover Cares: Eddie Zenter for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man of the Year

At Clover, giving back to our local community has always been a foundational pillar of our company. We are more than just a business; we are a family, and right now we are proud to rally behind an exceptional member of our own Clomunity.

Eddie Zenter has been a valued employee at Clover for over twelve years, and has spent most of his life living in Petaluma where he and his wife are raising their three children. In May 2013, Eddie’s 4-year-old son, Jayden, was diagnosed with High Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This amazing little boy is a real life superhero whose ongoing battle against this disease has been a true inspiration. Jayden continues to touch everyone he meets, not only with his personal story of courage, but with his incredible compassion for other children with cancer.

In 2015, Jayden was named the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) North Bay Boy Of The Year. This year his dad Eddie has been nominated for 2016 LLS Man of the Year, and is currently raising money for the organization to honor the many ways it has supported his family as Jayden goes through harsh chemotherapy treatments.

“Until this became my life, I was unaware that Leukemia is the most common childhood cancer,” says Eddie. “In 2015 about 4,800 children under 20 were diagnosed with Leukemia. While advancements are being made and survival rates are increasing, the treatment is long and hard. My son will have completed 3 ½ years of chemotherapy when he finishes his protocol this September. We have formed a team, “Team Jayden’s Journey,” to raise funds and awareness for LLS in hopes that one day we will see a world without blood cancers.”

On Saturday, May 7, 2016, Clover Stornetta Farms will participate in the Sonoma County Human Race in Santa Rosa; a community-wide collaborative fundraiser that supports over 220 non-profits. Our goal is to support Team Jayden’s Journey and Eddie’s efforts to raise funds on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society which will be used for research and improved treatment protocols for blood cancers.

From now through May 7th, Clover is helping Eddie meet his fundraising goal of $50,000 through our special event fundraising page where we will match every contribution made, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. Reaching the $50K goal will allow him to fund a cancer research project through LLS in the name of his son Jayden. We can stand together as a community to make a difference in Jayden’s life and in the lives of all those struggling to overcome leukemia and lymphoma! Our fundraising dollars will enable LLS to further their efforts to cure blood cancers, improve the lives of patients and their families, and support Eddie’s quest to be the 2016 LLS Man of the Year.
