Marbled Sugar Cookies

Perfect for your Galentine or your Valentine, these marbled sugar cookies are buttery and beautiful! Made with Clover Sonoma Pasture Raised Organic Butter and with natural food dye for a beautiful pink marble!

Ingredients

Sugar Cookies:

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup Clover Sonoma Organic Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

Marbled Icing:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp Clover Sonoma Pasture Raised Organic Milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • a few drops of natural food coloring (Chefmaster -Natural Liqua-Gel food coloring)

Directions

Beat sugar and softened butter until smooth.

Add eggs and vanilla, then mix in flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt until combined.

Chill the dough for at least 1 hour (or overnight).

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Roll out dough on a floured surface to 1/4–1/2 inch thickness.

Cut into shapes with cookie cutters and bake for 7–9 minutes.

Let cool completely.

Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth with a glue-like consistency.

Add a few drops of food coloring and swirl gently with a skewer to create a marbled effect.

Dip each cooled cookie into the icing, drip off the excess, and set on a rack to dry
